(Updated and corrected somewhat ~2:50pm.)

(Yui Uzuki)

Not even going to bother with a more elaborate setup. :P They met during the Shevat invasion (gee, really? what is this, the fifth time I've read that on the same page?), and one would think from the way it's written they got married IMMEDIATELY. Young love! Plus, evidence that she can, indeed, kick his ass - at least, it says that Gaspar showed her a thing or two. After the destruction of Lahan, she took Midori back to Shevat and waited for Shitan to return - which we already knew.

Witness the power of the PW to tell us things we already know. A+++

(Midori Uzuki)
Shitan's daughter. She's five. ... actually, I won't bother with this. Neither of these profiles tells us anything new, and I think there's more information on Midori's strange talents in the "家族 ー 娘との関係" section, which is longer, and covers stuff like Elru, what Midori actually knows about Shitan and Fei, and so on. Her little profile says she knows the thoughts of humans and animals. Can you imagine what it must be like to have a window into Shitan's mind? I'd be running as fast as my legs could carry me.

I was going to, y'know, WRITE, but people chose today of all days to keep calling me. So, what do I do with a piddling two hours?

(Hyuga in Solaris)

The epidemic in which he lost his family:
When Hyuga was thirteen the Third Class level was swept with plague. This incident killed everyone in his family - parents, his eight brothers (1), and his grandfather. Because of the genius he'd shown during his youth, from that time forward he was faced with persecution from his fellow Third Class citizens, who suspected he was the source of the epidemic (2). This continued until he entered Jugend.

1: the timeline mentions Hyuga is the ninth child, and Clio Saga illustrated nine boys (including Hyuga - Rey is responsible for the translation of their names) when she drew the Uzuki siblings. The presence of "可能性" ("possibility," correct? Am I missing a secondary meaning?) weirds me out, but I see no uncertainty in these facts.
2: another I'm not positive about. It says suspicion spread and he was persecuted; "毒物実験を行った" would... lead me to interpret this as doubt that the experiment ever happened. (Fixed; another problem with sentence subject, I suspect, or just me not checking up on grammar rules for ではない. :p)

.....

So, you were right, [info]totorojo! I'll have to be more careful with that verb.

This doesn't explain why suspicion fell on him, stupidity of people-in-general aside. He did lose his family, after all. I actually don't think he'd be the type to stick out and accuse Solaris. (I also don't think he's the type to let Krelian grope him, but that's neither here nor there.)

Sorry, for those of you who don't give a rat's ass about Xenogears. :P I promise I post about other things. This just happens to be... pressing.

[info]reynardfox, I think I need you to specify when I should write Yui and Shitan. You're doing Third Invasion, so I should probably play elsewhere, unless that's what you want. If yes, that doesn't excuse you from completing your end of the bargain!

I need a Hyuga icon. If my morals would only allow, I'd mine my extensive collection of fan art for one. Sigh.

Hello again :)

This is the sentence you're having trouble with I think. Literally, "The suspicion that he had carried out a poison experiment spread". The "ではないか" here isn't a negative, per se, it's a "couldn't he have done it?" type construction. (God, sorry, my grammar terminology is so poor >_<). So that's what them suspecting him was all about. He was known to be a genius, and people thought he'd been experimenting with poison. ... Rather a random thing to suspect though. Silly solarians... :P

Dunno what this is on about. The sentence is messed up. Looks like a printing mistake. I think the bit I put in [] brackets doesn't belong in this sentence at all - then it all fits. (Though I would like to ask a native to double check...)

This continued until he entered Jugend.

I still have to look over some of the other stuff from before. More to follow :)

2) Until. I don't know why I made that mistake. o_O The others are pretty clear to me when you list corrections, but... that's so--augh. ;_;

1) okay, that makes more sense. If I can I'll grab a native, but that part just doesn't fit in at all with the rest. Especially the 低い bit. At least, not to me.

As for the suspicion bit - thank you, and many hearts again for your trouble! <3 That makes much more sense in context with the sentence (though again, wtf is up with his neighbors?). The talk about the actual experiment beforehand confused the issue for me. I need to work on this Subject thing, clearly. XD

Those Lambs, man. </i>Totally not Solarian</i> according to the Solarians! Because the Abel are smarter. (Pfffthahahahaha--)

... Can you imagine what it must be like to have a window into Shitan's mind? I'd be running as fast as my legs could carry me. ...
There's a pretty good fic out there that details this. I believe it can be found here. It's a little bit creepy, but good, and I think well-written.

... the timeline mentions Hyuga is the ninth child, and Clio Saga illustrated nine boys (including Hyuga - Rey is responsible for the translation of their names) when she drew the Uzuki siblings. The presence of "可能性" ("possibility," correct? Am I missing a secondary meaning?) weirds me out, but I see no uncertainty in these facts. ...
According to the artwork, there are nine Ricdeau siblings in all, and Hyuga is the youngest. I thought for sure that appearances alone would account for Shigure being Hyuga, given the appearance, but it seems by the labeling that Clio Saga put on them, he is indeed the youngest. I could be wrong, but I did double- and triple-checking on that damn kanji, some of which I couldn't even see well because of JPEG compression issues. Huh.

... another I'm not positive about. It says suspicion spread and he was persecuted; "毒物実験を行った" would... lead me to interpret this as doubt that the experiment ever happened. ...
I admit to not knowing the whole nine yards here, but I think what it may mean — language sticklers aside — is that because Hyuga was one of the few to survive, he may have come under suspicion and/or persecution for whatever reason because of that. He was the one who lived, and thus, he might be suspect just in light of that fact — evidence of some sort or no.

I remember that fic. XD And it was very good. What I've always wondered, though, is what Midori might have seen that she didn't understand, simply because she was young - and how that might affect her maturity. As in, whether or not she would grow up faster, or see certain ugly human truths sooner, because of her insight. I'm pretty sure it says somewhere that she doesn't like her father at all, but are her reasons childish? Or too old for her age?

The kanji on there for Hyuuga is right. :P And actually, the tiny kid at the bottom always struck me as Hyuga because of the haircut (of all things). Solaris is his 'fashionable bob' stage.

Re: suspicion, that's what I figured, too. It doesn't tell us what their motivations are, of course (the PW can't tell us more than 50% of what we don't know after all, that would be too easy!), but it makes sense. Especially if they're superstitious. Or... just jerks. :P

Hmmm. Midori may be touted as being a smart child, but given the sort of junk that's floating around in Hyuga's head, there's bound to be things that she just doesn't understand — politics, war, inventions, death. Still, it's interesting food for thought.

Oh, yay. I was afraid I may have gotten the kanji messed up or something. Shigure's glasses do appear to be Hyuga's (or at least what Hyuga wears, later in life). I wonder if Shigure gave them to him or something. Maybe that explains why he wears something that looks so impractical? Snrkhahaha. "Fasionable bob." XD

If Perfect Works actually gave us something useful that we didn't know, I'd be afraid. Very afraid.

Midori's one of my favorite characters ^___^ (I even cosplayed her once ^^;;;) I was never really sure on her age though... do you know if she's four years old? I remember reading that somewhere. I wish we saw more of her in the game.

If I recall correctly (and I'm reading the text from Perfect Works up there correcly), Midori ought to be eight years old.

It's Primera that's seven or eight - I don't remember exactly. I think seven.

Oops, my bad. I forgot which one was which. Hell, they're all kids; that's close enough for me. *grins*

What complicates matters: neither girl speaks. They both just kinda stare at you when you talk to them on the Ygg or in Shevat. Prim isn't a telepath, but still. Mixing them up is somewhat understandable. XD

Man, that would be pretty creepy. At least Primera is vaguely cute, but I get the sense that Midori doesn't really put any effort into looking appealing or cute. Even more than that, I get the sense that she doesn't really care about interacting with other people, preferring to be cold, and introverted. She has too much going on her head, I'd imagine.

...But her stare's got to be creepy as hell. The sort of "I am eating your spicy brains" stare that cats have. Maybe not hostile, but... yeah. Creepy. Unsettling.

Haha, it's hilarious I forgot to translate that part. :P It says up there under her name, before I revert to English - Midori is five years old. You can also confirm this with the timeline translation.
